"Politically Exposed Person (PEP)" - means an individual (resident or non-resident) who is, or has at any time in the preceding 12 months been, entrusted with a prominent public function, i.e.

head of state, head of government, government minister, deputy or assistant government minister, member of parliament, member of a supreme court, member of a constitutional court or other high level judicial body, member of a court of auditors or the board of a central bank, ambassador, chargé d'affairs, high-ranking officer in the armed forces or member of the administrative, management or supervisory body of a state-owned enterprise or is related to or associated with such a person.

Note that this includes a person's relatives or friends.
